Hello

Maria Kucia-Albin is a painter, visual artist, and set designer. She creates figurative-abstract paintings of women, in which figure intersects with color, emotion, and a space of understatement. Her paintings stem from years of experience in set design and a personal need to speak of silence, memory, loneliness, and the power hidden in delicacy.

About Mary

Maria Kucia-Albin is a Polish painter, visual artist and scenographer. She graduated from the State Secondary School of Fine Arts in Warsaw and from the Academy of Fine Arts in Wrocław, where she studied graphic design and scenography. For over forty years, she was associated with Polish Television as a set designer and costume designer. She co-created the visual setting of many television programs, performances and productions for children and young audiences, including “5-10-15”, “Domisie”, “Rower Błażeja” and the series “W krainie baśni”. Her experience in scenography has strongly influenced the way she thinks about painting: as a space in which the figure, light, color and gesture build an emotional story. Today Maria Kucia-Albin focuses on painting. She mainly creates acrylic paintings on canvas, combining figuration with expressive abstraction. The central motif of her work is the female figure: thoughtful, paused in a moment, present, yet often distant from everyday reality. Her painting moves between realism and abstraction. The figurative body often appears within a space of intense color fields, painterly gestures and open-ended signs. Color is not only decorative — it becomes a carrier of emotion, tension and memory. The works of Maria Kucia-Albin have been presented and sold through galleries, auction houses and international art platforms. Her paintings are held in private collections in Poland and abroad.
